Meet Taylor

Taylor is a retired 30 year teacher, school co-founder and former professional athlete and National Champion. Today, in his second career, he applies the same hard work, teamwork and discipline that helped him find success in those arenas to achieve his clients' real estate goals.

While playing varsity men's lacrosse at Princeton University, Taylor was a three year starter on two National Championship Teams, and he earned All-America, All-Ivy, and Scholar All-America honors. Taylor continued to play competitively after college in two professional leagues as well as for the German National Team, with whom he won the European Championships and represented his country of birth in the World Lacrosse Games.

Taylor fell in love with the Lake Tahoe area on a road trip in the mid '90's, so much so that he dreamt of living here someday. When he received a graduate degree from Brown University nearly a decade later, he returned to the West, landed his “dream” teaching job in Tahoe and never left.

As an educator, Taylor worked in the best interests of students for 30 years. For the last 15 years of his career, Taylor was a co-founder, teacher and leader for a new Pk-12th grade school in Tahoe/Truckee that uses adventure to build character and bring learning to life.

In his personal life, Taylor was lucky to meet and marry a Northern Californian, who grew up visiting Tahoe often and also dreamt of living here. They committed their vows on the North Shore of Lake Tahoe in 2013. Together, they have owned multiple homes in the area and are happily raising two boys, two dogs, and a cat on a rural property 20 minutes north of Truckee. All of them enjoy the adventurous spirits who live here and the incredible activities that abound.

Today, Taylor is fortunate to be an active member of two amazing real estate teams, Carr Long Real Estate for clients in California and Coldwell Banker Select for clients in Nevada. Both teams are dedicated to excellence and to building trusted, long lasting relationships with their clients.

Giving Back

Taylor volunteers each year for the Princeton University Alumni organization as an interviewer for admissions. He also continues to work with young people as a volunteer coach for the Truckee Tribe Lacrosse and the Reno Avalanche Lacrosse Clubs, where he is excited to share his expertise and love of the game with local players and work alongside amazing parents who run these robust, community-oriented programs.

As a non-profit leader in education for decades, Taylor serves on the Advisory Board of Trustees for Sierra Nevada Journeys, an incredible program located in Northern California that serves over 10,000 students per year to help them engage with experiential learning, environmental stewardship and character building through adventure.
